Stable part-time

I’ve never worked a traditional full-time job. By chance, I ended up in media with my (so-called) side projects, and there’s always been more than one running simultaneously.

Even when I (sort of) settled into a full-time role—first one, then a second, and eventually a third—my side projects didn’t disappear.

That’s why I always find it tricky when people ask me where I work, what I do, how much I earn, or when my vacation ends. The answer always depends on who’s asking.

But that’s also the most interesting part for me. I enjoy doing multiple different things, talking and writing about various topics, and developing a wide range of skills.

It would be great if the world had more stable part-time roles—not just in creative industries, but across the board. It would be amazing if there were jobs for three days a week instead of six.

This could open up new opportunities for a diverse range of people: from parents who don’t want to spend every moment with their kids to senior executives for whom running an side business could become the norm.
